Derek David Baron is considered a front runner in industrial interpretation. He fused collage with
eastern elements, creating simplicity and balance between color and form. Receiving many
commissions and grants, Derek studied at the Art Center in Pasadena, California and the Art Institute of
Southern California.
Now in his early forties, Derek has changed his style of painting. Heavily influenced by Gary Komarin,
Jean-Michel Basquiat and Erin Rachel Hudak, he has started to explore painting on a more personal
level. Pulling from memories of his father, friends and personal effects. His work has almost a childlike
simplicity with layers of complexities.
He primarily shows in Los Angeles, Orange County and New York.
